14th October 2008: FAKUMA fair

OiMA will be participating in the 2008 edition of the FAKUMA trade fair, to be held from 14th to 18th October 2008 at Friedrichshafen (GERMANY), to present a 220-ton press from the new STRATOS KP Packaging series.
At the SACMI Group / NEGRI BOSSI stand, in fact, visitors will have the opportunity to see a packaging application for the fast injection moulding of disposable objects with multiple moulds. This application aims to highlight that, in this industry too, it is possible to produce large volumes with outstanding cycle times, while enjoying the benefits of low specific consumption with respect to traditional injection production thanks to the cutting-edge solutions and top-flight technology that STRATOS KP presses feature as standard.
The key distinguishing element is the Siemens High Torque electric batching motor that drives the plasticizing screw. OiMA technicians have, in fact, worked in close collaboration with German technicians to achieve excellent performance and low energy consumption.
And that’s not the only energy saving feature of the STRATOS KP project: for example there is the entire new-concept hydraulic system and the broad flexibility of the all-new ECO NT III controller, which allows the operator to optimise the balance between performance and energy consumption according to the specific moulding task, and the adoption of new insulated ceramic heating elements on the plasticizing cylinder. Other distinctive elements include new screw profiles specially designed to optimise plasticizing performance, the newly extended geometries of the mould clamping unit with stainless steel platens, chromium-plated columns, roller-forged threads and the new ECO NT III controller that, among other things, offers new self-directed press cycle pages.
